25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Steven Tung conducted an unannounced annual inspection. A risk assessment was conducted prior to entering the facility. Due to COVID- 19 precautionary measures were taken, licensing staff present during inspection wore appropriate personal protective equipment. LPA met with Licensee Leah Holcomb who guided analysts on a tour of the facility. The licensee's assistant was also present. There was 1 infant present. Licensee states that there are currently 6 children enrolled.
Family members residing in the home are 2 adults (criminal record clearances on file). This is a two-story home which consists of 3 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, kitchen, dining room, living room, front patio (fenced), and garage. The children use the bathroom on the first floor, living room, dining room, and kitchen. Applicant had latches on cabinets with any potentially hazardous material. Per licensee, areas off limits to children and parents include: the entire upstairs, front patio, and garage. The LPA toured all areas used by children during this visit.
Areas accessible to children were inspected to ensure that they are clean and orderly with ventilation and heating for safety and comfort. There were safe toys, play equipment and materials observed for children. There is a working telephone service maintained in the home. Detergents, cleaning compounds, medications, and other items which can pose a danger to children are inaccessible in the home. Licensee states that there are no poisons in the home. The licensee does understand that poison must be locked with a key or combination lock.
