25 | Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs), Ariel Cazares and Alicia Mooberry conducted an unannounced annual random site inspection to ensure the health & safety standards as required by regulations governing family child care homes. Upon arrival, LPA met with Licensees Ling Yan Cao & Bob Chiang and toured the facility. There were 5 children present. Individuals residing in the home are the licensees and two children. Licensee’s operating hours are Monday-Friday 6am-6pm.
The home is a one story, 2-Bed, 2-Bath home. The following areas are used for day-care: Living Room, 1 restroom, the kitchen and back yard. Off limit areas include: 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, the office, an outdoor pantry space, sections of the backyard and detached garage, and front yard.
Licensee has the required postings on a board at the entrance of the facility. First Aid/CPR certificates are valid through 12/1/2020 for both licensees. Licensee's disaster drill log notes last drill conducted on 5/14/19. Licensee has a working telephone.
LPAs inspected all areas used for the daycare. The living room is the primary daycare activity space. The children's restroom was observed to be hazard free and in good condition. The carbon monoxide and smoke detectors located in the living room were tested and found to be operable. LPAs inspected 2 fire extinguishers which were both purchased in 6/28/17 but have not been serviced since then. LPA advised licensees to service one of them or purchase a new one. There were electrical outlet covers throughout and First Aid Kit located at entrance of facility. There are adequate age appropriate toys, books, and games. There are no firearms present on the premises as stated by licensee.
