25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Nolan Tcheng conducted an unannounced Required random inspection to the above facility. At 12:40pm, LPA met with Co-licensee, Ling Cao. Also present during this inspection, is Bob Chiang, Co-licensee. The licensee states that she currently has 11 children enrolled. A current children’s roster is available and is current. Licensee’s hours of operation 7:30am-6:30pm, Monday-Friday.
This is a one-story home which consists of 3 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, kitchen, living room, front yard and backyard (fenced). The children use the living room (child care room), bathroom by the back door leading to backyard, and backyard. Per licensee, areas off limits to children and parents include: all bedrooms, two bathrooms, garage. The licensee provides food for children in care.
The licensee states that 3 adults and 1 children currently live in the home. All persons who live in the home were identified on the attached LIC811. Licensee states that she currently has one assistant. All individuals present in the home have obtained a criminal record clearance or exemption prior to working, residing or volunteering in a licensed home. Per licensee, there are no weapons, firearms or bodies of water on the premises.
PHYSICAL PLANT
At 12:50pm, LPA was lead on a tour of the facility by the licensee. Upon entry to the facility, the front room was observed. Fireplaces and open face heaters are inaccessible to prevent access by children. Per licensee, the front room is used as an area for an ill child. A couch or a cot is available for that child. Emergency Disaster Plan, Parent’s Rights Poster and the Facility License are observed to be posted by the front door. A fire extinguisher was observed. The valve on the required 2A 10BC fire extinguisher indicates fully charged and was purchases 08/24/2022, as indicated on receipt. Per State Fire Marshall standards, fire extinguishers shall be serviced annually.The tour continued into the living room which is used as the main child care area. At the time of inspection, children were napping. LPA observed napping equipment in the form of cots. Equipment is stored in the living room.
