25 | A RANDOM INSPECTION CONDUCTED IN ENGLISH Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Alicia Mooberry and Janeth Chavez conducted an unannounced annual random site inspection to ensure the health & safety standards as required by regulations governing family child care homes. Upon arrival, LPAs met with Licensee, Alvenia Hatten and toured the facility. There are 7 children present and cleared assistant, Vianey Ortega. Per licensee, she in the only one living in the home. Licensee’s operating hours are Monday-Friday 7am-6pm. Licensee stated that she has been a part of a Head Start program for the last four years. Per licensee, she carries liability insurance for a family child care home. Per licensee, there are no infants in care at the moment.
The home is a one story, 3-Bed, 3-Bath home. The following areas are used for day-care: Living Room and Dining Room, 2 bedrooms, 1 restroom, the kitchen, side yard which is gated to prevent access to back yard. Off limit areas include: Master bedroom, 2 bathroom, back yard, storage shed (by side yard) and bungalows in back yard.
Licensee has the Parent’s Rights poster and other appropriate forms posted on wall in the living room. First Aid/CPR certificate are valid thru 05/2021. Licensee's disaster drill log notes last drill conducted on 10/4/19 & 10/17/19. Licensee has a working telephone, land line. Detergents and cleaning supplies were stored. Fire extinguisher has been serviced on 3/25/19. There is an operational smoke detector and carbon monoxide in the kitchen. The home has electrical outlet covers throughout and maintains a First Aid Kit. There are adequate age appropriate toys, books, and games. Licensee stated there are no firearms on the premises. LPAs inspected the backyard and found the garage locked. There are no pools or spas, or other bodies of water. Currently there are no pets. Children's Roster is readily available and updated. Children’s Files were reviewed and are complete.
