25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Judy Mora conducted an unannounced Required inspection. LPA met with licensee, Norman Galvez who guided analyst on a tour of the facility at approximately 1:50 PM. Visit was conducted in Spanish. The Licensee submitted an application for a large license. A fire safety request There were 2 children present, 1 being an infant. Licensee states that there are currently 5 children enrolled.
Family members residing in the home are 3 adults (criminal record clearances on file) and 1 child.
This is a one story home which consists of 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, kitchen, dining room, living room, detached garage, front and backyard (fenced). The children use the bathroom near the kitchen, living room, dining room and garage. The garage has been converted into an indoor activity space for children. Per Licensee, children do not eat and sleep in the activity area. Per licensee, areas off limits to children and parents include: 3 bedrooms, licensee's bathroom and upper backyard. The LPA toured all areas used by children during this visit.
Areas accessible to children were inspected to ensure that they are clean and orderly with ventilation and heating (wall ac) for safety and comfort. There is a wall heater in the living room which is inaccessible. There were safe toys, play equipment and materials observed for children. There is a working telephone service maintained in the home. Detergents, cleaning compounds, medications, and other items which can pose a danger to children are inaccessible in all areas of the home. The licensee states that there are no poisons in the home. The licensee does understand that poison must be locked with a key or combination lock.
LPA observed and inspected sleeping equipment for infants. LPA observed a play yard for each infant who is unable to climb out of the play yard. All equipment meets the US Consumer Product Safety Commission safety standards. LPA observed that play yard is free from loose articles and objects. There are no objects hanging above or attached to the side of the crib. LPA observed that play yard does not hinder the entrance or exit to and from the space they are sleeping in.
