32 | LPA observed 9 cribs in the napping area .Each crib was labeled with an infant name . Infants able to pull themselves up ,sleep on mats.
Cribs used by younger infants . Mattress is at its lowest position and side rail cannot be lowered. Mattress is covered with vinyl or similar moisture resistant material. Parents take linens home on Friday and returned on Monday.
LPA observed that there are functioning smoke and carbon detectors in the facility. LPA observed a fully charged fire extinguisher with the purchase date 10/24/23. Emergency disaster drill was last conducted on 04/29/24. Facility Representative states there are no weapons, firearms, or bodies of water on the premises.
Separate sink in each room is used for washing hands and dishes as needed. Bottles and food are brought from home. Older infants may eat snacks prepared by the facility. Bottles and food brought from home labeled with the infant’s name. Cabinet space and refrigerator are used for storing food items and perishables. Microwave oven is used for warming up foods while bottles are warmed up in bottle warmers. Staff assist infants with feeding whether held or when infant is seated.
First aid bags are kept in front of the each classroom in the backpacks .
All storage containers for solid waste, including moveable bins shall have tight-fitting covers that are kept on, and in good repair. Trash cans used to discard food have tight fitting lids. Drinking water is readily available both indoors and outdoors, children bring their own water bottles too. The facility was observed to be free of flies, other insects, and rodents.
The office and staff restroom will be used for the ill children. Mat is available upon request .
Outdoor playground equipment is in safe condition, free of sharp, loose, or pointed parts. The surface of the outdoor activity space is maintained in a safe condition and is free of hazards . Tot turf is used as cushioning material under a play structure and throughout majority of the yard. Sandbox is clean and free of debris. Per Facility Representative sand box covered overnight and wrecked every week . There is adequate shade in the play yard.
