25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Nolan Tcheng conducted an unannounced 3yr random inspection to the above facility. At 8:40am, LPA met with licensee, Liqing Gao. Also present during this inspection, is Licensee's husband, Ziaoming Gao, who helped interpret for Licensee, who is primarily Cantonese speaking. The licensee states that they currently has 6 children enrolled. A current children’s roster is available and is current. Licensee’s hours of operation are 8:30am-6pm, Monday-Friday.
This is a one-story home which consists of 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, kitchen, living room, front yard and backyard (fenced). The children use one bedroom as play area, living room, attached garage, and backyard fenced. Per licensee, areas off limits to children and parents include: 2 bedrooms, kitchen, garage, and front yard. All areas identified on the facility sketch were inspected. The licensee provides food for children in care.
The licensee states that 4 adults and 0 children currently live in the home. Persons living in home are identified on the attached LIC811. Licensee states that they currently have one assistant. All individuals present in the home have obtained a criminal record clearance or exemption prior to working, residing or volunteering in a licensed home. Per licensee, there are no weapons, firearms or bodies of water on the premises.
At 8:50am, LPA was led on a tour of the facility by the licensee. Upon entry into the home, LPA observed the living room.. There were two cribs and two play yards available for infant age children. There were plenty of age appropriate toys and equipment. Emergency Disaster Plan, Parent’s Rights Poster and the Facility License are observed to be posted. The tour continued into the hallway where there is a bathroom for children in care to use. LPA observed cabinets and drawers to have safety latches on them to prevent access to children in care. Detergents, cleaning compounds, medications, and other items which could pose a danger are inaccessible to children. The tour continued down the hallway to the back bedroom which is used as child care play area. There were more age appropriate toys and equipment for children in care to use.
