32 | INDOORS: This facility has indoor activity space for infants that is physically separate from space used by children in other components. Furniture and equipment such as changing tables and feeding chairs were inspected for age appropriateness, good repair and free of sharp, loose, or pointed parts. Telephone service, heating, lighting and ventilation were evaluated. Napping equipment (cribs/mats) and bedding were inspected and in good condition, appropriate storage, and cleanliness. The facility has a laundry area that includes washer and drier to wash the children's linens weekly. Storage for children's belongings and isolation area were inspected. Ill isolation area is in the main office. Drinking water is readily available indoors for through a water jug. Carbon monoxide detectors and smoke detectors are present.
Age appropriate sinks (1) and toilets (1) were inspected for availability, good repair, water temperature, toilet paper, area safety and sanitation. First Aid supplies were inventoried. Per Director, Alexis Vazquez, they are not currently providing IMS services at this time.
Food menus were reviewed. The facility provides infant formula and all food. Food and snacks were reviewed for availability, quantity and appropriateness for children in care.
The facility provides, breakfast, lunch and a PM snack. Food preparation area was toured for safety, cleanliness and proper equipment. All storage containers for solid waste, including moveable bins had tight-fitting covers that are kept on, and in good repair. The facility was observed to be free of flies, other insects and rodents. Disinfectants, cleaning solutions, medications and other items that are dangerous to children, were inaccessible to children.
OUTDOORS: The outdoor activity space for infants is physically separate from space used by preschool and toddler program. The infant play yard is fully fenced and exclusively used by the infant program. Outdoor play equipment was inspected for safety, free of sharp, loose pointed parts, good repair and age appropriateness. Required shade, drinking water and fencing were inspected. Play area was inspected for hazards and inaccessibility to bodies of water; no bodies of water or hazards were observed. The infant play yard has cushioned material that absorbs a fall.
RECORDS REVIEW: Children's and staff's records were reviewed. Children have a Needs and Services plan on file. Staff's CPR expires 06/16/2020: proof of current Pediatric First Aid and CPR certification. |
