25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Judy Mora conducted an unannounced Required inspection. LPA met with licensee, Felisa Wright, who guided analyst on a tour of the facility at approximately 12:35 PM. LPA's temperature was taken upon entrance to the home. The licensee's minor daughter was also present. There were 6 children present. Licensee states that there are currently 08 children enrolled. The Licensee has applied for a large family child care license. The fire clearance was granted and received by the Department on 04/27/21.
The Licensee is the only adult living in the home (criminal record clearances on file) and 2 children. This is a single story home consisting of two bedrooms, one bathroom, kitchen, dining room area, living room, attached garage and front and back yards. Children have access to the living room, dining room area, bathroom, garage space which will be used for day care activities excluding eating and sleeping and back yard which is fenced. Off-limits to children in care, are both bedrooms. The LPA toured all areas used by children during this visit.
Areas accessible to children were inspected to ensure that they are clean and orderly with ventilation and heating (wall ac) for safety and comfort. There were safe toys, play equipment and materials observed for children. There is a working telephone service maintained in the home. Detergents, cleaning compounds, medications, and other items which can pose a danger to children are inaccessible in all areas of the home. The licensee states that there are no poisons in the home. The licensee does understand that poison must be locked with a key or combination lock.
Per Licensee, she does not currently have infants enrolled. LPA observed and inspected sleeping equipment for infants. The Licensee does have sufficient napping equipment. All equipment meets the US Consumer Product Safety Commission safety standards. LPA advised Licensee that once infants are enrolled cribs and/or play yards must be free from loose articles and objects.
