25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Dayna Chambers conducted an unannounced annual inspection on May 5, 2023, at 11:15AM. LPA met with Site Supervisor, Carina Rivas, who guided analyst on a tour of the facility. This is an infant program which consists of Room#1- Crib Room, Room#2- Crib Room, Room #3- Crib Room,
Room #4-Crib Room, Room #5 – Crib Room, Staff Room, Kitchen, Administrative and Isolation Room, Toddler Rooms: Toddler Room #1-Peanuts, Washroom-changing Table, Hallway, and Toddler Room #2- Peanuts Room. Facility operation hours are Monday to Friday from 7:00AM to 5:00PM. The infant program is in the same building as the center’s pre-school program. The infant program has no shared areas. All areas identified on this report were inspected. Upon arrival, the following staff were present during this inspection:
Staff#1 and Staff#2 with 7 infants. The facility was observed to be within the license capacity and limitations. The following was observed during the tour of the facility: Furniture and equipment were inspected for age appropriateness and good repair. The facility has sufficient napping equipment, feeding chairs, and changing tables. Infants in this program are from the age of birth to 24 months. Center is following the Infant Safe Sleep regulations at the time of the inspection. Telephone service, heating, lighting, and ventilation were evaluated. Infants have their own cubby to store their belongings. Linens are washed weekly at home. Per Teacher, the isolation area is in the administrative/isolation room in the infant area in back of building. Age-appropriate sinks and toilets were inspected for availability and good repair in all restrooms. General sanitation was observed. Availability of indoor drinking water was observed in the classroom. Disinfectants, cleaning solutions, medication and other items that are dangerous to infants, were inaccessible to infants. Teacher states that there are no poisons stored at the facility. Carbon monoxide detectors were observed and are operable. The Center does not provide food for children. The kitchen areas/food preparation areas and food storage areas are kept clean and are free of litter, rubbish, rodents, and/or any other vermin. All storage containers for solid waste, including moveable bins shall have tight-fitting covers that are kept on, and in good repair. Trash cans used to discard food have tight fitting lids. Bottles were observed to be labeled individually with the children's name. Kitchen counter tops were clean and free of clutter or standing food. The outdoor playground was |
