32 | LPA observed that detergents, cleaning compounds and medication are inaccessible to children. Licensee understands that all poisons must be locked. Isolation area for sick children waiting to be picked up is in the outside with an adult, away from the other children. Per Licensee there are no firearms or weapons stored in the home.
Licensee cares for two infant. LPA observed 1 play yards visible in daycare room. Napping equipment does not block entrances or exits. Infant mattresses were observed to be firm with tightly fitted sheets. LPA did not observe loose object, bumpers, objects hanging, or objects attached to the play yards. There are currently no infants with pacifiers. Each infant has their own play yard and bedding. LPA explained the new Safe sleep regulations and the 15 minute sleep check documentation for infants 0-24 months. LPA provided Licensee with PIN 20-24 and the LIC 9227.
Licensee does not provide any overnight care at this time.
Currently, children are using the backyard for outdoor play. The outdoor play area was observed to be fenced. LPA observed that the outdoor yard has toys and other materials for children to play with. LPA did not observe any objects that could be hazardous to children in care. There are no pools or spas, or other bodies of water.
Children’s records were reviewed for (LIC) 282- Affidavit Regarding Liability Insurance, Immunization Records, LIC 700- Identification and Emergency Information, Notification of Parents’ Rights. Staff records were reviewed for approved for LIC-501: Personnel Record, LIC 508- Criminal Record Statement, LIC 9052- Employee Rights, Proof of immunization against measles, pertussis and influenza or influenza declination, TB clearance or risk assessment, LIC 9108- Statement Acknowledging Requirement to Report Child Abuse and current Mandated Reporter Training Certificate which 06/30/2023. During staff file review, Pediatric First Aid and CPR certification had just expire and Licensee is registered to take an in person CPR & 1st Aid class later this month. A technical violation was given.
During inspection all children were observed to be treated with dignity and respect, they were observed to be receiving safe, healthful and comfortable accommodations, furnishings and equipment, and free from corporal and/or unusual punishment.
