25 | Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Nolan Tcheng and Suzana Safaryan conducted an unannounced 3-Yr random inspection to the above facility. At 10:50am, LPAs met with Lead Teacher Kelly Callaghan. Also present during this inspection was Licensee's additional Assistant. Per Lead Teacher, the licensees would be back in the afternoon, due to appointment. The teacher states that they currently has 14 children enrolled. A current children’s roster is available and is current. Licensee’s hours of operation are 8am-5pm, Monday-Friday.
This is a two-story home which consists of 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, kitchen, dining room, living room, rear room (Art Room), backyard (fenced), and Guest house (classroom) in backyard. The children use living room (nap room) and rear room (Art Room) in the main house, the backyard, and guest house (classroom). Per licensee, areas off limits to children and parents include: the entire second floor and kitchen. All areas identified on the facility sketch were inspected. The licensee provides food for children in care.
The licensee states that 2 adults and 3 children currently live in the home. Persons residing in the home are identified on the attached LIC811. Teacher states that the Licensee currently have two assistants All individuals present in the home have obtained a criminal record clearance or exemption prior to working, residing or volunteering in a licensed home. Per licensee, there are no weapons or firearms.
At 11:05am, LPAs were led on a tour of the facility by the licensee. Upon entry through the side driveway gate, the back yard was reviewed. The backyard is large and has ample space for children to play. There are grass areas, small play structure, climbing apparatus, bikes, and plenty of toys and equipment for children in care to use. There are benches underneath a covered patio section that children use for meal time and for activities. The next area reviewed was the Guest house, which is being used as a classroom. There are age appropriate toys and equipment present for children to utilize. At 11:15am, fire extinguisher was observed. The valve on the required 2A 10BC fire extinguisher indicates fully charged and was serviced on 08/29/2023 as indicated on service tag. Per State Fire Marshall standards, fire extinguishers shall be serviced annually. REPORT CONTINUES PAGE 1 of 3
