25 | Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Alicia Mooberry and Armando Lucero conducted an unannounced Required - 1 year site inspection. LPAs met with Director Catherine Ocran who guided staff on a tour of the facility. There were 0 children and 0 staff present during the inspection. The facility is located on the lot of Redeemer Presbyterian Church in the school - age building across from the pre-school playground. The facility operates as a summer school program beginning in the middle of June - August.
Operating hours are 6:00 AM - 6:00PM Monday-Friday. LPA toured the indoor classroom and outdoor activity areas.
While touring the classroom LPAs observed water damage in ceiling, ceiling and ceiling lights appear to be caving in (photo taken). LPAs observed walls in boys bathroom with water damage and what appears to be mold on the wall behind the toilet (photos taken). Advisory note given. Director was advised to correct the damage in the school age classroom prior to start of summer program. Per director all repairs will be completed prior to Monday, June 1, 2020. A visit will need to be conducted by the licensing department prior to the open of the school age program to ensure that all repairs have been made.
The facility will provide transportation to planned field trips during the summer. First Aid kit observed Files reviewed and found complete.
There is a separate preschool office building located near classroom 1 (preschool building) with the office to be used only for ill children. There is a Director’s office and a staff lounge located in classroom 2 (preschool building).
Applicant is aware all staff subject to obtain a criminal record clearance must be completed prior to working or volunteering in a licensed child care facility. |
