25 | An announced decrease in capacity site inspection was conducted on this date by Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Cynthia Reyes for the purpose of Inspecting and approving removal of the Toddler option from the infant license. LPA met with Pearl Omiya, Licensee. Due to COVID- 19 precautionary measures were taken during the entire inspection and all individuals present during this inspection wore appropriate personal protective equipment. Days & Hours of this facility are Monday-Friday 630 AM-630 PM.
This center is previously licensed for 8 infant, and 15 toddlers. The facility request to decrease back to just 8 infants, which will be located only on the first floor of the building. The 2 classrooms located upstairs above the infant classroom were used for the Toddler option, however the licensee request to remove the toddler option and now request to be licensed for a new preschool (F#198020839) with a capacity of 15.
Pearl Omiya, Licensee guided the LPA on a tour of the facility indoors and outdoors and all was inspected to meet the regulations. No citations or corrections are needed at this time, however, for the outdoor play yard, a waiver was requested under the new preschool application to share the outdoor space. The proposed Preschool program is requesting to use a staggered outdoor play schedule in the infant play yard as the facility only has one play yard on the premises.
If the waiver is approved and final file review the capacity decrease will be granted. The license then will be amended to reflect the new capacity of eight (8) infant children.
During this inspection LPA discussed Social and Physical Distancing Guidance And Healthy Practices For Child Care Facilities In Response To The Global Corona virus (COVID-19) Pandemic
LPA advised the Applicant to access forms, regulations and quarterly updates on the Child Care Licensing website at: www.ccld.ca.gov. Exit interview conducted with Pearl Omiya, Licensee and a signed copy of this report and appeal rights were provided. |
