25 | Visit Conducted in English
An unannounced Annual Random Inspection was conducted by Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) A. Lucero. LPA met with licensee Tina Rike who guided LPA on a tour of the facility. This is a single story, three bedroom, two bathroom home. Currently residing in the home are two adults (Licensee and adult child) and three minors. Present at the time of inspection was licensee's assistant who was providing care and supervision to children in care. Also present at the time of inspection was licensee's father, Stan Akina, who licensee stated was visiting for the day, and was observed to be sitting alone at the dining table and was not providing care and supervision to children in care. LPA recommended to licensee to have her father fingerprinted, even if he is visiting and not providing care and supervision to children in care. LPA provided licensee with LIC 9163 Form.
Upon LPA's arrival to the facility, LPA observed infant #1 asleep in a car seat in the living room of the home. LPA reviewed the Department's Provider Information Notice (PIN) regarding the Safe Sleep Awareness Campaign. LPA provided an English and a Spanish copy to licensee. During a walk-through of the facility, LPA observed there to be 17 children in care; the capacity specified on the license shall be the maximum number of children for whom care may be provided at any one time. This is an immediate risk to children in care.
Areas accessible to children were inspected as follows: Family room, Classroom, Bathroom (between classroom and family room), dining area, kitchen, backyard.
Areas off limits include: All bedrooms, hallway bathroom, front yard. There is no garage.
Licensee states that there are no weapons or firearms on the premises. LPA did not observe swimming pools or spas on the premises. The backyard is adequately fenced. There are age appropriate toys and equipment on the premises. The smoke detectors and carbon monoxide detectors are present in the facility. |
