25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Judy Mora conducted an unannounced Annual/random inspection. LPA met with Business Manager, Tiffanie Wong. Director, Sahar Farmanesh, arrived during this visit and guided LPA on a tour of the facility. This is a preschool age program licensed for 104 children which operates Monday – Friday from 7:00 AM – 6:00 PM. Per the Director there are 22 children enrolled. This is a combination center with an infant component, license # 198019482. The preschool component is conducted in physically separate areas indoors.
All areas identified on the facility sketch were inspected. Upon arrival, LPA observed 02 children with 01 staff in the Kinder Prep class, 05 children with 01 staff in the Pre-K 2, 04 children with 03 staff in the 2's Room, and 01 child with 02 staff in the 2's-3 Room. Teacher-child ratios were observed to be in accordance with Title 22 regulations. The Licensee is within the conditions, limitations, and capacity specified on the license. Staff names were recorded. All children were observed to be under visual supervision of a teacher at all times.
Furniture and equipment was inspected for good repair, free of sharp, loose, or pointed parts. All indoor classrooms were inspected to ensure that the floors have a surface that is safe and clean. All toilets and hand washing facilities are in safe and sanitary operating conditions. All materials and surfaces accessible to children are toxic free. At this time, the Director's office is used as an isolation area.
Snack menus were reviewed to ensure that they are being posted at least one week in advance and visible to an authorized representative. The facility provides AM snack and PM snack. Parents have the option to provide lunches for children daily or participate in the lunch program provided by Oraganic Kids LA. All kitchen, food preparation, and storage areas are clean, free of litter, rubbish, and rodents/vermin. All food is protected from contamination. There is drinking water available in all indoor classrooms and a water pitcher and disposable cups are taken outdoors. All storage containers for solid waste, including moveable bins, have tight fitting covers on and are in good repair.
