25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Seung Lee conducted an unannounced annual inspection. Upon arrival LPA Lee met with Teacher Hyun Kim.This facility is a preschool program which consists of 3 classrooms (Butterfly, Bumblebee, Lady Bug). The facility serves children Monday-Friday 7:30AM till 6:00PM. The building is a two story building. The facility only uses the first floor for day care. This facility is also part of the CSPP program.
Teacher Hyun Kim provided LPA Lee a tour of the facility. The following was observed.
PHYSICAL PLANT- Disinfectants, cleaning solutions, medication and other items that are dangerous to children, were inaccessible to children. Teacher stated that these items are locked in the Director's Office Furniture and equipment are in good condition, free of sharp, loose, or pointed parts. All toilets and hand washing sinks are safe, sanitary and are operating properly. All floors are clean and safe. All kitchen areas/food preparation areas and food storage areas are kept clean and are free of litter, rubbish and rodents and/or any other vermin. All storage containers for solid waste, including moveable bins have tight-fitting covers that are kept on, and in good repair. Drinking water is readily available both indoors and outdoors. The facility was observed to be free of flies, other insects and rodents. Outdoor playground equipment is in safe condition, free of sharp, loose or pointed parts. The surface of the outdoor activity space is maintained in a safe condition and is free of hazards. All areas around or under high climbing equipment, swings, slides, and similar equipment are cushioned with material that absorbs a fall.
During the inspection, LPA Lee measured the total indoor and outdoor activity space of the facility. This facility has a pending capacity increase application. The fire capacity has been granted for 56 children. The total number of sinks for children is 4 and the total number of toilets for children is 4. The total indoor capacity was measured for 56 children while the outdoor capacity was measured for 59 children. The facility was advised that the application will proceed to a final review before a new license for 56 children is granted.
