32 | However, the officers informed the Director that they did not find any crime but that people have a right to complain. There was no report generated by the Northeast Police Department. Based on interviews conducted with Staff #1, 2, 3 & 4 they stated that when an infant begins to cry, they tend to their needs (i.e. make sure they weren't hungry, tired, needed to have their diaper changed or are sick). That once it is determined that their basic needs are met, if the infant is still crying, they will hold them and cuddle them until the infant stops crying. Also, staff disclosed that the facility has new infants enrolling on a monthly basis. Therefore, it takes time for an infant to adjust to the his/her new surroundings, new faces (staff) and other infants. Also, when one infant starts to cry it prompts other infants to start crying even after their basic needs are met.
Based on the investigation conducted by the Department the allegation that, the Facility staff are allowing children to cry for an extended period of time is Unsubstantiated. Therefore, although the allegation may have happened or is valid, there is not a preponderance of evidence to prove the alleged violation did or did not occur.
There are no deficiencies cited on today's inspection.
