25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Anomeh Eivazian conducted an unannounced random inspection. Upon LPA's arrival to the facility LPA met with Tamar Odabashian, Site Supervisor. Per Tamar Odabasian one staff called out today and she was not able to give a tour of the facility to LPA. Shortly after, Louis Haiek, facility manager arrived to the facility. LPA met with Louis Haiek, facility manager who guided analyst on tour of facility. This is a preschool program which consists of 3 classrooms; RM Monkeys (2-3 year old), RM Lions (3-4 year old), and RM Elephants (4-5 year old). There are three buildings with three separated addresses on the premises (1435 Kenneth Road- Monkeys classroom, 1306 Sonora Avenue- Lions classroom, and 1429 Kenneth Road- Elephants classroom) which consider all as one lot. Facility operation hours are from Monday to Friday from 7:30 AM to 6:00 PM.
All areas identified on the Facility Sketch were inspected. The following staff was present during this inspection: RM Monkeys: 16 preschoolers with 2 staff; RM Lions: 19 preschoolers with 2 staff, and RM Elephants: 15 preschoolers with 2 staff. The following was observed during tour of facility:
PHYSICAL PLANT: Disinfectants, cleaning solutions, medication and other items that are dangerous to children, were inaccessible to children. Director, states there are no poisons on the premises. Furniture and equipment are in good condition, free of sharp, loose, or pointed parts. All toilets and hand washing sinks are safe, sanitary and are operating properly. There are three toilets and 1 sink in the bathroom which is located in the playground, there are two toilets and two sinks in the bathroom which is located in Elephants classroom. All floors are clean and safe.
All kitchen areas/food preparation areas and food storage areas are kept clean and are free of litter, rubbish and rodents and/or any other vermin. The kitchen area is located by Lions classroom. LPA observed a refrigerator, microwave, and a toaster in kitchen area.
