25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Dayna Chambers conducted an unannounced annual inspection on September 12, 2022 at: 1:00 PM. LPA met with Elsa Du Foresto, Site Supervisor and Maureen Coude Du Foresto, Director, who guided analyst on a tour of the facility. This is a preschool program which consists of 3 classrooms; RM 1- Blue Rm, RM 2-Green Rm, and RM 3-Purple Rm. Facility operation hours are Monday to Friday from 8:00AM to 4:00PM. LPA observed a total of 16 children in care upon arrival.
All areas identified on the Facility Sketch were inspected. Upon arrival, the following staff were present during this inspection: Room 1# Blue: Staff #1 and #2 with 9 preschoolers; Room 2- Green Rm Staff #3 and #4 with 3 preschoolers and RM #3-Purple Rm: Staff #5 and Staff#6 with 4 preschoolers. The facility was observed to be within the license capacity and limitations. The following was observed during the tour of the facility:
Furniture and equipment were inspected for age appropriateness and in good repair. Telephone service, heating, lighting and ventilation were evaluated. Children have their own cubby to store their belongings. Linens are taken home each week to be washed. Napping equipment (mats) were observed in a separate storage room. Per Site Supervisor, the isolation area is in the office. Age appropriate sinks and toilets were inspected for availability and good repair in all restrooms. General sanitation was observed. Children’s parents provide water and the center provides water in dispensers; indoor drinking water was observed in classrooms.
Disinfectants, cleaning solutions, medication and other items that are dangerous to children, were inaccessible to children. LPA did not observe any cleaning or disinfecting items accessible to children. Carbon monoxide detectors were observed and are operable. This center does not have a kitchen; parents provide snacks and lunch for the children in care. All storage containers for solid waste, including moveable bins shall have tight-fitting covers that are kept on, and in good repair. Trash cans used to discard food have tight fitting lids or solid waste bags shall be discarded immediately after each meal. |
