25 | At 1:10pm, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Jose Guzman and Licensing Program Manager (LPM) Ana Chico conducted a subsequent pre-licensing inspection. Licensing staff met with applicant Diane York. Per applicant, pool is currently not in use. The purpose of this inspection was to capture photographs, document the Bodies of Water Checklist and collect the documents missing from the application. Licensing staff toured the facility and the facility pool does not comply with the Bodies of Water Checklist. LPA verified that there will be a certified lifeguard on duty with a current water safety certificate. Applicant has been advised that on duty lifeguard is not part of the teacher child ratio. Water activities ratios will be noted on the parent handbook. Licensing staff was not able to collect the requested documents that were missing to complete the application.
Applicant was also informed that children from the preschool and the children from the school age program, which is located next door, cannot commingle at any time and should have their own indoor/outdoor space. At this time, the pool area is part of the preschool program.
Based on the LPA observation, the following corrections need to be corrected prior to obtaining a childcare license. Corrections are due by 06/26/20:
· Add mesh to the climbable chain linked fence (due date 6/19/2020)
· Current staff on LIC 500
· Pediatric First Aid/CPR EMSA approved
· Approved Health and Safety course certificate
· Provide immunization records
· Update parent handbook (water activities ratios)
Exit interview was conducted with Diane York, via Zoom on 6/15/2020 for a visit conducted on 6/10/2020, during which appeal rights were explained. This report along with a copy of the appeal rights will be sent to the applicant via email with a read receipt or confirmation of receipt of email, which will act as the applicant’s signature.
