An unannounced Annual Random Inspection was conducted by Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) A. Lucero. LPA met with licensee Dinal Patel who guided LPA on a tour of the facility. This is a two story, four bedroom, two and one half bathroom home. Currently residing in the home are two adults (Licensee and spouse) and two minors. Present at the time of inspection was licensee's husband who was in an off-limits portion of the home not providing care and supervision.
Licensee is also applying for a capacity increase from a small family child care home with a current capacity of eight children, to a large family child care home with a capacity of 14 children. The department received a granted fire clearance from the local fire department.
Areas accessible to children were inspected as follows: Den area that has been converted into day care area, one half bathroom located near den, entry way, back yard.
Areas off limits include: Living room, kitchen, attached garage, all of upstairs which consists of four bedrooms, two bathrooms, front yard.
Licensee states that there are no weapons or firearms on the premises. LPA did not observe swimming pools or spas on the premises. The backyard is adequately fenced. There are age appropriate toys and equipment on the premises. The smoke detectors and carbon monoxide detectors are present in the facility and in operational condition. LPA observed a children's gate at the base of the staircase to prevent children from gaining access to the upstairs portion of the home that is off-limits to children. |
