Per licensee, areas off limits to children and parents include 1 bedroom, kitchen, office, garage, and front yard. The children have access to living room, dining room, one bathroom, one bedroom used for napping, and backyard which is fenced.
Licensee guided analyst on a tour of the facility. During this visit, all areas identified on the facility sketch that are accessible for children to use were toured and inspected and the following was observed.
Facility License, Emergency Disaster Plan, Parent’s Rights Poster, and Earthquake Preparedness Checklist were observed to be posted in the home. A current children’s roster was available for review.
There is telephone service via a landline and a cellphone in the home. Hours of operation are Monday – Friday, 7:30 am – 5:30 pm. There is central air and heating in the home. LPA observed a fireplace in the living room that is barricaded by a couch making it inaccessible to children.
Detergents, cleaning compounds, and medications were observed to be inaccessible to children. Poisons are locked in the off-limits garage. LPA advised that any poisons should be locked under key or combination lock. There is one firearm in the home, which was observed to be in an inaccessible bedroom closet, stored in a locked case with a key lock. A childproof doorknob was observed on the off-limits bedroom door on this day. Ammunition is stored separately in the inaccessible bedroom.
