25 | Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Crystal Green and Enjoli Maeweather conducted an unannounced annual inspection. LPAs met with Director, Shamalie Goonewardene, who guided LPAs on a tour of the facility. This Infant Program also has a Preschool Program (198019890) located on the same premises there are no shared areas between the program.
At approximately 10:35 AM, Licensing staff was provided a tour of the facility. Licensing staff observed 10 infants and 4 staff present in the outdoor activity area. The younger infants were observed indoors. Licensing staff observed 3 infants in the activity area with 2 staff and 4 napping infants in the crib area with 1 staff. Licensing staff observed the facility to be clean, safe, sanitary and in good repair. Furniture and equipment were inspected for good repair, free of sharp, loose, or pointed parts. Napping equipment was observed in form of cribs and cots. Children's linens for the infant program are to be washed or replaced daily. LPAs observed bottle warmers available in the Infant classroom. There were age-appropriate feeding chairs available for the infants in care. There are age appropriate toys and supplies for children in the classroom, in good repair. There 2 changing table within arm's reach of a sink located in the classroom. LPA observed it to be clean. The facility was observed to have diapers and wipes available for each child. Drinking water is available in form of personal bottles that are also taken outside when needed. At this time, the Director's Office is used as an isolation area. Parents are contacted immediately when children are determined to be ill and staff are ensuring that children with obvious symptoms of illness are not being accepted.
The facility provides AM and PM snacks. The parents provide formula and lunches for the children. All kitchen, food preparation, and storage areas are clean, free of litter, rubbish, and rodents/vermin. All storage containers for solid waste, including moveable bins, have tight fitting covers on and are in good repair. Disinfectants, cleaning solutions, poisons and other items that are dangerous to children are stored in an area inaccessible to children. Facility has one or more functioning carbon monoxide detectors that meet statutory requirements. The facility takes measures to keep the facility free of flies, other insects and rodents. |
