25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Seung Lee conducted unannounced random inspection. Upon arrival, LPA Lee met with Licensees Fay Yeh and William Hsu, who guided analyst on a tour of the facility. Adults residing in the home are the two Licensees and two adults (Licensees' Parents). LPA Lee observed 6 children present with the 2 Licensee's and an assistant. Hours for the family child care home are M-F 9AM-6PM.
All areas identified on the facility sketch were inspected. This is a one story home which consists of 4 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms, kitchen, living room, family room, guest house, garage, sun room, backyard (pool area (fenced), back patio and front yard. Day care area includes: Living room, 1 bedroom, 2 bathrooms, and parts of the backyard.Areas off limits to children and parents include: Kitchen, 3 bedrooms, 1 bathrooms, guest house, garage, back yard (pool area). The doors to these areas are locked
Detergents, cleaning compounds, medicines, sharp objects and hazardous items that can pose a danger to children are inaccessible. Per Licensees, there are no poisons on the premises. Per Licensees, there are no weapons or firearms on the premises. There are 2 dogs in the home that will be kept in an off limit area (back yard). One dog is a poodle and the other is a lab. There is a pool on the premises. The pool is located in the backyard behind the garage and guest house. There is no direct access to the pool unless the garage door is open. The garage door is automated. Per Licensees the garage door will be kept closed at all times. In order to access the pool area, individuals are required to go through the converted garage that is locked and off limits. Licensee's CPR expires 07/2021 and Fire Extinguisher has been serviced on 08/15/2019 per Tag. Fire Drill was conducted 08/13/2019.
The Licensees have applied for a capacity increase application. Fire Clearance has been approved and was received by the Monterey Park Regional office. Licensee's understands that this report along with the application will be submitted for a final review. The Licensees understood that they cannot operate under the new capacity until they have been notified by the regional office. |
