25 | An unannounced Required – 1 Year Inspection was conducted on 12/21/2022 at 1:50 PM by Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Katrina Chicote. Facility is currently licensed for a capacity of 30 and have 30 enrolled. Facility is located on Hudson Elementary school. LPA announced purpose of visit and was granted entry to facility by teacher. LPA initially met with Amanda Kanbar Early Learning Center Manager (ELCM). The program currently operates Monday thru Friday from 7:45 AM to 2:45 PM Monday thru Friday. LPA was taken on a guided tour of the facility of both indoors and outdoors.
At the initial start of the site visit, there is a total census of 20 children and a total census of five teachers present. The facility is made up of two classrooms RM B-36 and RM B-37. LPA arrived as children were transitioning out of nap time. LPA observed eight preschoolers on cots with two staff (S1 and S2) in RM B-36 and 12 preschoolers on cots with three staff (S3, S4, and S5) in RM B-37.
Beginning at 1:55 PM, furniture and equipment were inspected for age appropriateness and good repair. Telephone service, heating, lighting and ventilation were evaluated. LPA observed learning stations for dramatic play, art materials, Science and Math manipulatives available for children with toys free of loose and sharp parts. LPA observed library area with books and soft seating available for quiet play in each classroom. LPA observed floors and carpets in each classroom to be well maintained and free of hazards. There were cubbies observed as storage for children's belongings. Cots were inspected and observed laid out in classroom not hindering walkways with exits accessible. Per Teacher, linens are provided by the facility and washed by laundry service and blankets are brought from home and taken home weekly. Availability of drinking water was reviewed. LPA observed water coolers with cups available in each classroom. Age appropriate sinks and toilets were inspected for availability, good repair, water temperature, toilet paper, area safety and sanitation. LPA observed each classroom has access to their own bathroom, each with one toilet and one sink, totaling two toilets and two sinks available. Report Continues - Page 1 of 3 |
