Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Crystal Green conducted an unannounced case management inspection regarding a request for a capacity increase. This facility is currently licensed for 30 preschoolers has submitted a request to increase to 35 preschoolers. LPA met with Director/Owner, Sakina Basrai who guided analyst on a tour of the facility. LPA observed facility to be operating within its capacity limitation.

The licensee has submitted a request for a capacity increase due to installing an additional toilet and a sink in order to accommodate additional children. During this inspection, LPA observed the facility to now have 3 sinks and 3 toilets available to the children in care.

Indoor capacity measurements were obtained during pre-licensing inspection conducted on 12/28/2018. Based on the measurements obtained indoor space allows for a capacity of (33) preschoolers however outdoor space is limited to a capacity of (30) preschoolers. Due to the measurements obtained regarding the outdoor space, licensee will need to request for an outdoor play space waiver.

An approved Fire Clearance has been granted by the Los Angeles Fire Department. At this time facility is in compliance with Title 22 and will be submitted for a capacity increase of 33 preschoolers, pending approval from department for a waiver granting use of the outdoor play space on a staggered schedule.

LPA Green conducted an exit interview with Director, Sakina Basrai. Appeal Rights were issued and discussed.

The Notice of Site Visit (LIC 9213) – must remain posted for 30 days during the hours of operation after each site visit by a licensing representative. Failure to maintain posting as required will result in a civil penalty of $100.00.
