Licensing Program Analyst, Ariel Cazares conducted an unannounced annual random site inspection and to address the capacity increase request. Upon arrival, LPA met with Licensee Ramona Alexandi. LPA observed a total of 7 children (2 biological, 5 daycare) and assistant/licensee's mother. Individuals residing in the home are the licensee, spouse, and 2 children. Licensee’s operating hours are Monday-Friday 6am-6pm.

The home is a one story, 3-Bed, 2-Bath home. The following areas are used for day-care: Living Room, 1 bedroom, 1 restroom, and back yard. Off limit areas include: Master bedroom (via door knob cover), kitchen (via safety gate) and 1 bathroom in kitchen, detached garage (locked) and pool in the backyard (covered and behind a locked gate).

Licensee has the required postings on a board in the office area. First Aid/CPR certificate are valid thru 02/2020. Licensee's disaster drill log notes last drill conducted on 07/11/19. Licensee has a working telephone. Staff and children's files were reviewed. LPA was unable to interpret the pertussis results for assistant. LPA requested licensee to have assistant obtain clarification from her physician. The children's roster was reviewed.

LPA inspected areas used by daycare children. The bedroom used for napping was observed to be in compliance, clean and in good condition. There are couches, cots, and a crib. LPA observed a stroller in the bedroom and reminded licensee about appropriate use of strollers and not to use them for sleeping equipment.

The restroom adjacent to the bedroom is in clean and good condition. No accessible hazards were observed. The living room used as the primary activity space is free of hazards. LPA observed toys and play equipment for children. The floor heater in the living room remains off as noted by verification from the gas company. Licensee requested the master bedroom be used for diaper changing. LPA inspected the bedroom and observed no accessible hazards or violations. Fire extinguisher was observed to be fully charged and purchase receipt notes 4/18/19. There is an operational smoke detector in the bedroom and carbon monoxide in the living room which were both tested by LPA. The home has electrical outlet covers throughout and maintains a First Aid Kit. There are no firearms present on the premises as stated by licensee.

LPA inspected the backyard and found the garage remains locked. The have been no changes to the pool since the previous inspection. The pool remains covered and behind a locked gate inaccessible to children. Access points to the pool are maintained off limits. LPA observed toys and appropriate play equipment for children.

The following were discussed: Individuals who are 18 years of age or older living in the home must be finger print cleared prior to being in the presence of the children in care. Individuals within one month of their 18th birthday must be fingerprinted immediately. No smoking, No infant walkers, No baby bouncers, No Johnny jumpers, No exersaucers and any other item that falls into that category. LPA discussed disaster drills, posting requirements, children records requirements, mandated child abuse and injury/death reporting.



· LPA reviewed Safe Sleep Concepts with licensee as she cares for infants and provided another copy of the materials to licensee.

· Incidental Medical Services (IMS) policy was discussed. For IMS information see Evaluator Manual - Regulation Interpretations and Procedures for Family Child Care Homes Section 102417. When any IMS is provided, a Plan for Providing IMS must be submitted to the Department. · A qualified Assistant must be present and actively involved in caring for children whenever nine (9) or more children are present at the facility in a large family child care home.

· LPA advised the Licensee to access forms and regulations on line at: www.ccld.ca.gov

No Deficiencies were cited on this visit. LPA is recommending facility be licensed for a large family child care home.

The Notice of Site Visit (LIC 9213)must remain posted for 30 days during the hours of operation after each site visit by a licensing representative. Failure to maintain posting as required will result in a civil penalty of $100.00.
