25 | At 11:44AM on 4/08/2022, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Lissete Gonzalez conducted an announced case management inspection. Due to COVID- 19, precautionary measures were taken. LPA met with Area Supervisor, Carla Torres and VP of Early Childhood Education, Angela Capone. The purpose of this visit is to inspect the proposed Preschool Room #88 under Para Los Ninos Early Head Start Vine #198020303 for temporary use by children currently enrolled in the infant component from Room #83. The VP of Early Childhood Education has requested to temporarily relocate older infants from Room #83 to Preschool Room #88 located on the premises. The temporary relocation of infants from Room #83 to Room #88 will allow the program to work on construction renovations for Room #83. Construction will take place on weekends and is expected to be completed by the end of May 2022.
At 1:21PM, LPA was guided through a tour of the facility. Census was taken. LPA did not observe any children present in Room #88. LPA observed the proposed Room #88 to contain age-appropriate furniture and equipment. The isolation area is located in the staff office. Room #88 was observed to have one changing table within arm’s reach of a sink. There are a total of six (06) infants enrolled in Room #83 that are currently receiving diapering services. A potty chair will be available for infants ready to be potty trained. LPA observed Room #88 to have a separate entrance and classroom divider to Room #87 to ensure children from the preschool and infant programs do not commingle. Facility check-in procedures occur at the entrance of the facility. LPA inspected the walk path from Room #88 to the toddler playground to ensure the health and safety of children in care. No hazards were observed at the time of this visit.
Based on documents submitted to the Department and the inspection completed today, temporary relocation is being granted until 06/02/2022. VP of Early Childhood Education and Area Supervisor agree to notify the department in advance of any additional changes or if temporary use of Room #88 will need to be extended. The Department has record of an approved fire clearance for Room #88.
Exit interview was conducted with Area Supervisor, Carla Torres. |
