25 | PRELICENSING INSPECTION CONDUCTED IN ARMENIAN Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Anomeh Eivazian conducted a pre-licensing inspection today. LPA met with Mariam Armenakyan, Applicant who guided analyst on a tour of the facility. Family members residing in the home are 2 adults and 1 child. The applicant is requesting a small family child care home license. Per applicant operation hours will be Monday to Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.. Applicant states she will care for children 0-12 years old.
All areas identified on the facility sketch were inspected. This is a one story home which consists of 3 bedrooms, living room, dining room, kitchen, 2 bathrooms, front yard, back yard , and 2 side yards. There is a decorative disconnected fireplace in the dining room which has been blocked off to prevent access to children. There is a screen door with (3) locks on the front entrance. In addition, the wrought iron railings and openings leading to front door are covered with mesh.
Areas that are accessible to children are as follows: Living room, dining room, kitchen, two bedrooms, bathroom in bedroom #3, backyard, and 2 side yards. Parents have access to the facility through the main entrance and side yard.
Areas off limits based on facility sketch submitted to children and parents include: Master bedroom, bathroom in the master bedroom, and front yard.
**Rooms that are off-limits need to be made inaccessible during operating hours**
Per applicant children will use back yard and 2 side yards (fenced) for outdoor activity. Children will be physically and visually supervised at all times. The applicant does understand that licensing staff may have access to off-limit areas during inspection visit if necessary.
Areas that will be used by children were inspected for safety, comfort, cleanliness, telephone service, ventilation and heating. Detergents, cleaning compounds, medicines, sharp objects and hazardous items that can pose a danger to children are inaccessible.
