25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Bardo Baluyot conducted an unannounced required annual inspection. LPA conducted a COVID risk assessment prior to entering the facility. LPA met with licensee, Celine Mih who guided analyst on a tour of the facility. The licensee's spouse was also present. There were 11 children present, 2 being infants. Licensee states that there are currently 14 children enrolled.
Family members residing in the home are 2 adults (criminal record clearances on file) and 2 children. This is a two-story home which consists of 4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, kitchen, dining room, family room, living room garage and backyard (fenced). The children use the bathroom in the hallway next to the family room, family room, 1 bedroom located next to the family room, and backyard (fenced). LPA observed a washer and dryer in the hallway leading the bathroom of the main day care area. Applicant had latches on cabinets with any potentially hazardous material. Per licensee, areas off limits to children and parents include: the entire upstairs, kitchen, dining area, and garage. The LPA toured all areas used by children during this visit.
Areas accessible to children were inspected to ensure that they are clean and orderly with ventilation and heating for safety and comfort. There were safe toys, play equipment and materials observed for children. LPA observed stairs leading to the main living room area to be made inaccessible to the children in care. There is a working telephone service maintained in the home. Detergents, cleaning compounds, medications, and other items which can pose a danger to children are inaccessible in some areas of the home. Licensee states that there are no poisons in the home. The licensee does understand that poisons must be locked with a key or combination lock.
