25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Nolan Tcheng conducted an unannounced Case Management-Licensee Initiated inspection, to the above facility. This inspection is being conducted for a requested capacity increase. The facility is requesting to increase from a small family child care with a capacity of 8, to a large family child care with a capacity of 14. At 8:55am LPA met with licensee, Lily Harris. Also present during this inspection, is Licensee’s assistant. The licensee states that she currently has 8 children enrolled. A current children’s roster is available and is current. Licensee’s hours of operation are 8:30am-3:30pm, Monday-Friday.
This is a one story house. The home consists of 3 bedrooms, 2 restrooms, living room, laundry room, dining room, kitchen, garage converted into a play space, outdoor shed, backyard, and front yard. Areas that are accessible to children are as follows: Bedroom #3, laundry room, bathroom connected to Bedroom #3, converted garage, backyard, and front yard. Areas off limits based on facility sketch submitted to children and parents include: Living room, dining room, kitchen, bedroom #1 & #2, and restroom next to bedroom #2. All areas identified on the facility sketch were inspected. The licensee provides food for children in care.
The licensee states that 2 adults and 2 children currently live in the home. Person who live in the home were identified on the attached LIC811. Licensee states that she currently has one assistant. All individuals present in the home have obtained a criminal record clearance or exemption prior to working, residing or volunteering in a licensed home. Per licensee, there are no weapons, firearms or bodies of water on the premises.
PHYSICAL PLANT
At 09:05am LPA was lead on a tour of the facility by the licensee. The tour began in the front yard where the children are dropped off. There is a grass portion with a play structure and a garden used for activities with the children. The driveway leads down to the backyard and is also used as a bike path for children. The facility has tables and chairs in the back yard for activities and for meal time. The converted garage keeps its door open and has age appropriate toys and equipment for children in care. Emergency Disaster Plan, Parent’s Rights Poster and the Facility License are observed to be posted on the wall of the converted garage. REPORT CONTINUE PAGE 1 of 4 |
