25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Warren Birks conducted a follow up prelicensing inspection for the purpose of a observing additional napping arrangements made by applicant and remeasuring according to changes. LPA met with Director Applicant Catherine Ocran who has an application on file requesting an infant center license for a capacity of (12). This facility will be part of a combination center to include Jekal Learning Center Preschool #198017903 and Jekal Learning Center After School Program #198019087. The facility indoor space and outdoor space is physically separate from the preschool and school age components. Operations hours will 6:00am to 6:00pm. (The applicant installed partitions and moved changing table and sink).
The following items have been observed:
1. LPA observed an adequate amount of space for napping equipment (7 portable cribs and four small napping cots [for older active climbing infant/toddlers]). Note: The napping equipment is arranged so that staff may walk in between napping equipment to access children. The partitions added additional space in which Applicant Director Ocran was able to move the changing table and sink to the activity room. The facility has a portable potty as well. Napping area is physically divided from activity area with installed 4 ft partitions.
Note: The napping area has a space not partitioned for the entrance which Regional Manager D.A. approved.
INDOOR SPACE 20.83 x 19.25 = 400.97 less encumbered 9.7 = 391.27 / 35sq ft = 11 capacity
OUTDOOR 37 x 24.58 = 909.46 / 75sq ft = 12 capacity
The applicant has an approved 5/15/2019 fire clearance for a capacity of 12 (received on 5/18/2019). However, based on LPA measurements LPA will request the applicant be approved for a capacity of 11 infants. Once licensed, the applicant is required to adhere to the terms and limitations as stated on the license. Exit Interview conducted with Applicant (Director) Catherine Ocran. |
