25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Warren Birks conducted an unannounced Required 1 Year inspection. LPA met with Licensee Erendira Doherty who guided LPA on a tour of the facility. Upon arrival LPA observed Licensee and cleared assistant caring for nine napping preschool children and two infants. There are currently thirteen children enrolled.
This is a single story home which consist of six (6) bedrooms and five (5) bathrooms, living room, kitchen, dining area, garage. Areas used by children include two bedrooms and the side yard. LPA observed the side yard area to be clean and free of hazards at this time. LPA advised Licensee to make sure hand sanitizer is inaccessible after use by placing them higher than 5 ft. LPA observed plenty of safe and age appropriate toys, books, educational items, arts and crafts materials.
Areas accessible to children were inspected to ensure that they are clean and orderly with ventilation and heating for the safety of the children. There is a working telephone maintained in the home. Licensee has a small pet dog that is always inaccessible during daycare hours. LPA advised Licensee to provide extra care and supervision if animals are present with children as animals may be unpredictable. Detergents, cleaning compounds, medications, and other items which can pose a danger to children are inaccessible. LPA informed Licensee that poisons must be locked with a key or combination lock.
Per Licensee there are no firearms or weapons. LPA observed a jacuzzi that has a locked cover and is inaccessible by a 5 foot locked gate. The Emergency Disaster Plan, Parents Rights and License was posted. The children's roster is current and the Disaster drill log indicates last drill conducted October 25, 2021. Children’s records were reviewed and contain the required documentation including Identification and Emergency, Immunization and Parents Rights. The required 2A 10BC fire extinguisher is fully charged and must be renewed or replaced by the December 1st, 2021. LPA observed the Licensee to have current First Aid and CPR expires May 29, 2022. |
