25 | Due to COVID-19 precautionary measures, this inspection is being conducted as a tele-inspection by the use of FaceTime. Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) A. Lucero conducted a Pre-License tele-inspection to the above facility. LPA met with Emani Flewelen, Applicant, who guided analyst on a video tour of the facility. People residing in the home have been discussed and noted. The applicant is requesting a small family child care home license.
All areas identified on the facility sketch were inspected, including but not limited to, off limit areas. This is a one story home that consists of 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, dining room, living room, kitchen with a laundry area, front yard and back yard. Applicant states that care will be provided at the address the department has on file and applicant states that they live in the home where care will be provided. LPA observed easy access to the off-limits kitchen from the living room.
Per applicant, the children will use the front bedroom that has been converted into a day care area, one bathroom located in the front room, living room, front and back yards. Areas that will be used by children were inspected for safety, comfort, cleanliness, telephone service (cell phone), ventilation and heating. Detergents, cleaning compounds, medicines, sharp objects and hazardous items that can pose a danger to children are inaccessible in areas designated for children. The applicant was advised that any poisons must be locked with a key or combination lock at all times.
Based on the Facility Sketch submitted, areas off limits to children and parents are: Applicant's bedroom, master bathroom, kitchen and detached storage shed located in back yard. LPA advised Applicant to make sure that the master bedroom is locked during hours of operation to ensure that children in care do not have access to those areas. The applicant understands that licensing staff may have access to off-limit areas during inspection visit if necessary. |
