Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Juvenal Moctezuma and Joseph Pacheco conducted an unannounced Annual/Random Inspection and met with Site Supervisor, Maria Ramirez. The purpose of the inspection was discussed with Maria and a tour of the center was conducted both inside and outside. LPAs took census and observed that the children were napping inside the classroom under the supervision of Maria, one teacher, and one Aide.

Center operates from August through the end of May from 08:00 AM to 02:00 PM Monday through Friday. Disinfectants, cleaning solutions and all hazardous items are stored in a cabinet which has a plastic lock in place. LPA reminded Maria to make sure the plastic locks are always in place and working properly and children don't have access to cleaning solutions and disinfectants since the cabinet is right next to the children's bathroom. Maria understood. Some disinfectants and cleaning solutions were observed to stored in a high cabinet inside the kitchen which is remained closed and locked with a half door.

Maria stated that the center provides Incidental Medical Services (IMS). An IMS plan will be submitted. Medication is stored in a locked cabinet or inside the backpack that gets taken outside with children whenever they go outside and play. LPA reminded Maria to make sure that medications are always kept in areas that are inaccessible to children in care. Furniture and equipment appear to be safe and in good condition. LPA reminded Maria to get rid of any toys or equipment that are broken or malfunctioning. Floors appeared to be clean and safe, and solid waste storage vessels, including moveable bins, have tight fitting covers on, and are in good repair. The bathroom was observed to be clean and is kept free of toxins and in sanitary operating condition. The center only provides breakfast and lunch. Maria stated that food is prepared off site and gets brought over to the center daily. A staff then preps the food and delivers it to the children. Drinking water is available both indoors and out. The menus and schedules are posted inside the classroom. Maria stated that napping equipment is washed at least once a week (Friday) or whenever its necessary.
