25 | On November 30, 2021, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Brannon, conducted an unannounced Annual Required Inspection for the preschool license. LPA met with Center Director, Lina Bojorquez, and toured the facility indoors and outdoors. Days and hours of operation are Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Director verified facility phone number is (559) 675-9137.
There is no swimming pool or other bodies of water on the premises. There are no firearms or ammunition allowed or stored on the premises. Disinfectants, cleaning solutions, medication and other hazardous items are made inaccessible. No poisons were observed during the inspection.
Furniture and equipment are in good condition, free of sharp, loose or pointed parts. LPA reviewed with Center Director the requirement to keep the facility safe for children in care. LPA reviewed Title 22 sections: 101223: Personal Rights and 101238: Buildings and Grounds. The classrooms all have pieces of furniture that can be tipped over. This includes cubbies, corner shelving, shelving and play kitchen equipment. LPA reviewed with Center Director which items need to be anchored. This is to help ensure children are safe in the facility and to assist in preventing furniture from tipping and falling on a day care child.
Playground equipment is in safe condition, free of sharp, loose or pointed parts. The surface of the outdoor activity space is maintained in a safe condition and is free of hazards. The ramp in front of classroom (pod) 3 has rust showing. This needs to be addressed before rust spreads and becomes an issue to the health and safety of children in care. All toilets and hand washing facilities are in safe and sanitary operating condition.
In room 3, the flooring is warped, and corners of the plank flooring is lifting. Licensee is aware of the four areas with lifting and concave (middle curves inward). Licensee has these areas taped with clear tape. LPA was informed that the floor tiles were warped and rising in the corners, causing a tripping hazard. LPA was informed that a work invoice was sent in at or around three months ago. LPA was informed that licensee is completed with the bidding process and is sending in the request for approval. Per Health Specialist, Patricia Almanza, she will investigate getting area rugs to cover these four areas of warped flooring.
