25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Farhan Bashir-Tariq conducted an announced case management inspection today and met with Director, Lisa Vaillancourt. This inspection was conducted via Face Time due to COVID-19. Purpose of the inspection was explained and was to review room #103 and #104 for health and safety hazards. Both rooms are located in church’s building. Church has a separate building from the main preschool building and is divided by a playground in the middle of both buildings. No measurements were takes as part of this inspection and rooms were only inspected for health and safety hazards with Director. Facility will continue to follow capacity restrictions that were put in place by CCL previously in the main building and in church rooms. Facility can serve up to 10 children at a time in each room following and not going over the total capacity limit for this building authorized by CCL. Per Director, there were 21 children present today. Days and Hours of operation are: M-F, 8am – 4pm.
LPA and Director virtually toured the rooms to review any health and safety hazards. There were no health and safety hazards observed at the time of inspection in room #103 and #104. Both rooms are located along church hallway and have a similar layout with two doors in each room, one on both sides. There is one sink and one toilet available in each classroom. Church has a main building fire alarm and sprinkler system. Detectors were observed in classrooms. First aid kits were available in both rooms. A working carbon monoxide detector was available in each room and Director tested one of the detectors for this inspection. A lid trash can was observed near the sink area in each room. Fire extinguisher was located in hallway. Handwashing posters were observed to be posted near sinks. Facility was instructed to post information related to COVID-19 symptoms and social distancing practice. Facility needs to clean and sanitize classrooms thoroughly at least once a day. Both rooms were ready and set up to be used for childcare. Furniture, books, toys and other learning materials were observed in rooms. Chemicals if stored in the rooms, will be made inaccessible to children. Facility was granted fire clearance by Southern Marin Fire District. No changes were made to any outdoor space and facility will continue to follow previous restrictions/waivers.
As of today, December 09, 2020, Room #103, and #104 are being approved and incorporated into licensed childcare area.
