25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Haydee Caliboso met with Ruth Ann Newberry, Director of Noah's Ark Preschool, for an announced case management inspection. The facility requested to add two new classrooms on the second floor of the building called "Eaglets #202" and "Bunny Rabbits" to the existing licensed childcare program. The facility is located on 1370 South Novato Blvd and will operate Monday - Friday, 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
LPA toured the proposed new classrooms, which is set up for childcare. Existing areas of the currently licensed program, indoor and outdoor, were observed to be clean, safe, and free from hazards. The new two classrooms were measured and inspected today for health and safety hazards. The Eaglets #202 classroom indoor space measures 452.95 square feet, allowing for a capacity of 12 children. The new classroom "Eaglets #202" does not have bathrooms or toilets inside the classroom. The bathroom is outside the classroom across the hall. A sign is posted on the door that bathrooms are to be used only for children during the hours of care. There are a total of three sinks and four toilets for the children to use. The "Bunny Rabbits" classroom indoor space measures 377.29 square feet, allowing for a capacity of 10 children. The "Bunny Rabbits" classroom has one bathroom inside the classroom available for children to use.
The two additional classrooms each have a built-in kitchen counter-top with one sink and drawers for storage. See the facility sketch and capacity worksheet in the file.
Based on today's inspection LPA Haydee Caliboso is granting the use of the "Eaglets #202" and "Bunny Rabbit" classrooms on the second floor of the building. The classroom will be added to the overall license. However, the facility is not requesting an increase in capacity during this time. Due to the pandemic, the facility will use the two new additional classrooms for additional space only.
No deficiencies were observed today. Notice of site visit was observed to be posted and shall remain posted for 30 days.
