Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Farhan Bashir-Tariq met with the teacher Amparo Quintero for a case management inspection today. Facility is applying for capacity increase from 44 to 56 children for the after-school program. Purpose of the inspection was explained. Present, there were 44 children in care. Facility operates day care from Monday to Friday between 7:30 AM to 6 PM. There are number of different programs running on this site. This program will be running in Room 6 and Room 8.

This was a follow up visit from previous visit of 8/15/19. Facility was recommended to install separate bathrooms for boys and girls. Both bathrooms in room 6, are marked and will only be used by girls. Both bathrooms in room 8 , are marked and will only be used by boys. Doors have also been installed to separate the bathrooms in each room.

Facility was unable to obtain letter from school superintendent due to not meeting the criteria of being at a school site. So, the regular measurements were taken by LPA to review the capacity increase. Both rooms have area of 818 Sqft each. Total area of both the room available for this program adds up to 1635 Sqft, which allows the maximum capacity of 47 children. Facility has 3 sinks and 2 toilets in each room, which allows the capacity of 60 children. Department has already received the Fire Clearance from Novato Fire Department.

Based on the measurement taken today, facility will be recommended for the maximum capacity of 47 children at this point after supervisor’s review in the regional office of San Bruno. Copy of this repot was reviewed and left with the teacher Amparo along with the notice of site visit, which needs to be posted for 30 days.
