On November 11th, 2020 at 10:00 am, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Kassandra Medrano met with Director, Caitlinn Schmitt via FaceTime call due to COVID-19 state of emergency. The purpose of the visit was explained, to inspect the gymnasium planned for use. The facility has a requested a waiver operate temporarily during the COVID-19 state of emergency to maintain proper social distancing for the children in their facility. The facility has plans of using the gymnasium at Kent Middle School. Fire has granted clearance of the gym being that they do not exceed the posted occupancy of 380. Director states that gym will have no more than three cohorts maximum, with a group size no greater than 16 children and adults to accommodate the need for virtual learning for school age children. Schmitt states school district is currently emptying out the room to place desks, and age appropriate materials. School age program will have their own restroom in the locker rooms to prevent commingling due to school re-opening. Supervision of school age children coming and going from the bathrooms and at the bathrooms is achieved by facility staff. The program will have their own entrance away, separate from the middle school drop off. As for snack/break space the facility has the option to eat outside if the weather permits, but also in the gym when weather does not. The school district is currently working on dividing outdoor space. The space given to the program will be solely for Marin Enrichment. Facility has a staggered schedule planned to ensure both groups of children get play time as well as following current health and safety protocol.

Waiver to be processed, and once approved to be posted. No deficiencies cited.
