Licensing Program Analyst, (LPA) Luis J. Gomez met with Director, Barbara Price. The purpose of the visit was explained and is for an unannounced annual inspection. This is a combination center program, which operates infant, toddler and preschool programs. The preschool has a toddler option which runs (18 – 26 months). Program utilizes six (6) classrooms: Ants (18- 24 months), Lady bugs (2 year olds), Grasshoppers (2 years olds), Butterflies (3 years olds), Fireflies (3 year olds), Dragon Flies (4- 5 year olds) and 3 gated outdoor play area. Hours of operation are Monday- Friday 7:30am- 6:30pm. Present is the director and 12 staff supervising 59 children. Facility is within capacity limits of the license. LPA Gomez toured facility with director and inspected for health and safety hazards.

At 1:25pm on October 1, 2019 LPA inspected the Ant and Lady Bug classrooms. LPA observed classrooms have plenty of age appropriate toys, supplies and equipment for the children. Each classroom is equipped with storage cabinets and a refrigerator, with current temperature log. Each classroom has a diaper changing table, located within arm’s reach of a sink. Stackable cots are readily available for children who take naps. Classrooms have plenty of cubbies available and child size tables and chairs. Classroom has acceptable ventilation and natural lighting. Classrooms have a smoke detector, carbon monoxide detector and fully charged fire extinguisher (2A10BC) located in the hallway. Children’s medication is located in the classroom and is current. Children’s restroom located in the lady bug classroom has adequate supplies with 2 child size toilets and 1 sink.

At 1:35 on October 1, 2019 LPA inspected three outdoor play areas (Infant, Preschool and Threes) for hazards or dangerous conditions. LPA observed an age appropriate climbing structure with a slide, sand pit, rock pit and tricycles that are in good repair. Drinking water is readily available for children with use of a large canteens. Each gated outdoor play area is equipped with a storage sheds for children’s toys and wooden child size tables and benches.

At 1:43pm on October 1, 2019 LPA inspected the Grasshoppers, Butterflies, Fireflies and Dragon Files classrooms. Classrooms are maintained clean and organized and are equipped with age appropriate toys for the children. Classrooms are equipped with children's restrooms with adequate supplies. Each classroom has cubbies for the children's things and an art station with nontoxic paint. Water bottles in the classrooms are properly labeled. Classrooms have a working smoke detector, carbon monoxide detector and fully charged fire extinguisher (3A40BC) located in the hallway.

At 2:50pm on October 1, 2019 LPA reviewed children’s files, personnel files and facility roster. All staff has required pesticide training. Staff CPR/ 1st aid certification is current expiring: 9/2020. Emergency drills are done monthly, with the last drill conducted on, August 28, 2019, properly logged. LPA Gomez observed menu and all required licensing information is properly posted in facility lobby. Director stated program provides daily snack for the children.

Incidental Medical Services (IMS) policy was discussed. For IMS information see Evaluator Manual - Regulation Interpretations and Procedures for Child Care Centers Sections 101173 and 101226. When any IMS is provided, an updated Plan of Operation that includes IMS must be submitted to the Department. Director was reminded that as of September 1, 2016, a person may not be employed or volunteer at a child care facility unless he or she has been immunized against influenza, pertussis, and measles or qualifies for an exemption pursuant to Health and Safety code 1596.7995 and 1597.662.



Based on today's inspection, no deficiencies were observed in the areas evaluated according to the Title 22 Division 12 Ca. Code of Regulations. Exit interview was conducted with Barbara Price, and her signature of this form acknowledges receipt of these documents.
