25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Haydee Caliboso arrived at the facility at 11:40am to conduct an unannounced annual inspection. LPA met with Michelle Zoila-Shaffer. Purpose of the inspection was explained. Present during the inspection were Licensee, 12 preschool age children, and 2 assistant teachers. LPA observed that the program is operating within ratio on this day. All adults living in the home have been fingerprinted cleared. Hours of operation are: M-F, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM. Licensee provides snacks daily, and parents provides lunch each day. The facility was inspected today, indoors and outdoors for health and safety hazards.
Daycare areas: Kitchen area, playroom area, bedrooms #3 upstairs for napping only, hallway bathroom outdoor/indoor and playground area. Off Limit areas: living room, garage, and bedrooms #1 & #2 located in the lower level of the home. LPA and Licensee inspected the entire day care area for health and safety hazards. LPA observed that off limit areas were properly locked and made inaccessible to the children in care. LPA observed carbon monoxide and smoke detector in the home are properly working. A fire extinguisher of size 2A10BC or bigger was also available in the home. First Aid kit is fully stocked and accessible. Per Licensee, there is no firearm or weapon in the home. Licensee stated there is a body of water in the home. LPA observed swimming pool is separate from the areas of care and is gated, locked, and fenced up approximately about 6 ft. tall. LPA observed fireplace in the home have been barricaded and made inaccessible to children. Per Licensee, there are no children in care who needs medications while in care.
LPA observed that the house is clean, in good repair and free of hazards with proper temperature and ventilation.
