The LPA observed a designated area for children to sleep or rest quietly. The area includes sleeping mats, and cribs for each child, which are stored appropriately. The LPA observed two diaper changing stations in the home, which are clean and safe for the children to use. The LPA observed baby wipes and diapers were available for the children in care.
The LPA observed that all required documents were displayed in the home, such as the facility license, the Notification of Parental Rights, and the Earthquake Preparedness Checklist. The facility’s most recent emergency disaster drill was conducted on 9/28/2023 and was properly recorded, as confirmed by the LPA's review of the log.
The LPA reviewed the records of both the children and staff members. The LPA reviewed the five children's records and found that their files contain all necessary documents, including the Affidavit Regarding Liability Insurance, Immunization Record, Identification/Emergency Information, Consent for Emergency Medical Treatment, and Notification of Parents’ Rights. The LPA reviewed the sleeping records for children under two and confirmed that the data had been correctly recorded. Following a review of the staff records, the LPA found the licensee and the licensee’s two assistants possess a current certification in Pediatric First Aid/CPR. The licensee’s Pediatric First Aid/CPR certification expires on 6/2024. The LPA reminded the licensee that Mandated Reporter training must be completed every two years.
The licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.
