Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Farhan Bashir-Tariq and Luis Gomez arrived at the facility above unannounced to conduct an Annual Inspection on this day and met with the Licensee, Bruna Lima and Husband, Gino Gorrichategui. Purpose of the inspection was explained. Present there were 8 children in care with Licensee and Husband. LPAs verified the background check clearance of the adults working or living in the home. Name of the day care is 'Caring and Sharing Day Care'.

This a three-bed room and two-bathroom single family house, which Licensee rents. The hours of operation are: M-F, 8 AM – 5:30 PM. Licensee provides breakfast, lunch and two snacks. Day Care areas: Bathroom #1 (napping only) , Bedroom #1, Back yard and Play room. Off Limit areas: Bedroom #2, Bedroom #3, Bathroom #2, Living area and kitchen.

LPAs and Licensee inspected the entire day care area for Health and Safety hazards. LPAs observed that off limit areas were properly barricaded and made inaccessible to the children in care. There was a Carbon monoxide detector and a Smoke detector in the home. LPA performed the tests to check the functionality of the detectors. A Fire Extinguisher of size 2A10BC or bigger and a working telephone was also available in the home. First Aid kit is fully stocked and accessible. Per Licensee, there are no firearms or weapons in the home. Licensee states, there are no bodies of water and no pets in the home.

LPAs observed that the house is in good repair and free of hazards with proper temperature and ventilation. LPAs observed that there is a variety of age appropriate toys, books and other learning material available in the home for the children in care. Electric outlets, in the day care are, have been secured with child protective covers. Per Licensee, Discipline policy is redirection or communication. Safe Sleep procedures and SIDS handouts were provided to the Licensee.

Licensee presented a copy of children’s roster for reviewing and collection. All posting requirements are met and posted near the main entrance. Licensee's Fist aid and CPR card expired on 11/18/19. Licensee has already taken the training to renew the CPR card for herself and the husband on 11/14/19. LPAs also reviewed Licensee’s, immunization records and facility fire drill log. Per Log, last drill was conducted on November 18, 2019. Licensee is aware of the requirement of conducting and logging fire drills once every six months. LPAs reviewed facility records including all children's files. LPAs observed that files have records of immunization, names, addresses and telephone numbers of each child's authorized representative.

Incidental Medical Services (IMS) policy was discussed. For IMS information see Evaluator Manual - Regulation Interpretations and Procedures for Family Child Care Homes Section 102417. When any IMS is provided, a Plan for Providing IMS must be submitted to the Department. LPAs reminded Licensee that As of January 1, 2018, all staff is required to complete Mandated Child Abuse Reporter Training (AB1207) every two years. The training can be obtained online at www.mandatedreporterca.com. Licensee completed her child abuse training on 4/13/18, which is valid for two years. LPAs encouraged the Licensee to frequently visit our website at www.ccld.ca.gov for licensing regulations and new updates. Facility can also email at childcareadvocatesprogram@dss.ca.gov and ask to be added to the email list for the updates.

>NO deficiencies were cited today under Title 22 Division 12 of the California Code of Regulations.

This report and rights to comment and appeal were discussed with Licensee. This report must be available in the facility for public review. Notice of site visit shall be posted for 30 days from today's visit. Licensee was advised for any additional questions to call Office, M-F, 8AM-5PM at 650-266-8800.
