32 | There are 2 toilets and 3 sinks accessible for children's use. The bathrooms are clean and with no health and safety hazards. All cleaning supplies, hazardous items are stored in a locked cabinet made inaccessible to children. The capacity for 2 toilets is 30 and 45 capacity for 3 sinks. Isolation of ill children will be located in a corner space of the classroom, and staff bathrooms will be used for an ill child. There are designated bathrooms for staff to use. Pitchers of water and disposable cups will be provided for indoor and outdoor. The facility will conduct monthly disaster drills and a log will be maintained for review upon request
Outdoor: The outdoor area measures 2592 square feet allowing for a capacity of 34 children. The outdoor area is enclosed by at least a four-foot fence and observed to be clean, safe, and equipped with toys and for children. Sandbox is clean and will be inspected daily and kept free of hazardous materials. Shade for children is provided by portable shade structure. Children will visit the community garden located inside Lu Sutton Elementary School yard during designated time. LPA’s reminded the site supervisor Phoebe Thorton to ensure ratio and supervision is followed.
The following items were reviewed as part of today's visit: Record keeping for staff, children and facility records, Care and Supervision of the Children, Child Discipline Procedures- staff will talk with the children and use redirection, Emergency Evacuation Procedures, Medication Policies, Isolation of Sick Children, Napping Requirements, Food Service, Transportation-none provided, Parents Rights, and Reporting Requirements.
This facility will provide Incidental Medical Services – IMS. LPA reviewed storage area for medication and equipment/supplies, and reviewed forms that will be used.
