On 06/26/2020, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Candis Rodriguez conducted a virtual case management inspection with Licensee Kendra Munson, via Facetime, due to COVID-19 restrictions.

The purpose of the inspection was to observe an above ground swimming pool that was built in the Licensee's back yard. The above ground swimming pool is located on the property approximately 250 feet away from the house. Licensee demonstrated measurements of pool height with a tape measure. LPA observed the swimming pool to have edges which measure under 60 inches (five feet) high. In order to meet regulation requirements, Licensee attached lattice fencing to the pool, which is held in place by screws and PVC pipe along the circumference of the pool, bringing the barrier height to 61 inches high. Licensee demonstrated the sturdiness of the lattice barrier. LPA observed the entire circumference of the pool to be safely intact. Licensee stated she will keep the ladder out of the pool when not in use. The barrier being used as the fence meets Title 22 regulation requirements.
Licensee stated the day care children will have access to the swimming pool. Licensee understands children shall be supervised at all times when children are utilizing the swimming pool. LPA discussed other safety measures with Licensee. Licensee stated she currently has a child proof lock on the front door but will either install a new lock on the top of the door as well, or an auditory alarm for increased safety measures. Licensee stated her windows stay closed and locked at all times when children are present.

Per California Code of Regulations, Title 22, Division 12, Chapter 3, no deficiency was cited during the inspection.

Exit interview was conducted with Licensee. LPA advised Licensee a copy of the Facility Evaluation Report (LIC 809) as well as the Notice of Site Visit (LIC 9213) would be emailed to Licensee. LPA requested for Licensee to sign the LIC 809 and return the signed copy to LPA. Licensee was also reminded the LIC 9213 needs to be posted for 30 days.
