25 | A required - 3 year inspection was made to the facility by Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Leticia Rosales-Meza. A review of staff records on 02/12/24 indicates that all facility staff or other individuals who require caregiver background checks have received criminal record and child abuse index clearances or exemptions. Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. There are currently three adults living in the home.
During today’s inspection the home and grounds were toured. The licensee and Licensee's assistant/spouse, Mr. Soria were supervising two children, and operating within the licensed capacity and ratio requirements. No children were observed left in any parked vehicle. The facility’s operating hours are 12:00 AM to 11:59 PM, Monday–Sunday. The floor plan submitted by the licensee was reviewed and verified. The "off-limits" areas of the home are the three bedrooms, and master bedroom, and were made inaccessible by a door knob cover and key locked doors. The children have access to the living room, kitchen/dining area and hallway bathroom. The home was clean and orderly, and was at a comfortable indoor temperature of 68 degrees Fahrenheit. There were safe toys and equipment available for children. There is a working telephone in the home. The licensee has current pediatric CPR and First Aid certification, which expire on 08/2025. The licensees' CA mandated reporter training certificate expires May 3, 2025. Items which could pose a danger to children (detergents, cleaning compounds, and medications) were stored out of the reach of children. Poisons are stored in the detached garage, using a key lock. There is a working smoke detector, carbon monoxide detector and fire extinguisher rated at least 2-A, 10:BC. The wood burning stove in the living room has been made inaccessible with an iron gate. The licensee has conducted an emergency drill within the past six months, most recent Fire drill was documented on 02/08/24. The licensee stated there are no firearms and/or other dangerous weapons in the home, and none were observed during today's inspection.
