25 | A required - 1 year inspection was made to the facility by Licensing Program Analysts (LPA) Leticia Rosales-Meza. A review of staff records on 07/15/22 indicates that all facility staff or other individuals who require caregiver background checks have received criminal record and child abuse index clearances or exemptions. Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. There are currently two adults living in the home.
During today’s inspection the home and grounds were toured. The licensee and assistant was supervising four infants, four preschool, and three school-age children, and operating within the licensed capacity and ratio requirements. No children were observed left in any parked vehicle. The facility’s operating hours are 6:00 AM to 11:30 PM, Monday–Sunday. The floor plan submitted by the licensee was reviewed and verified. The off-limits areas of the home are the three bedrooms. These areas have been made inaccessible by door knob covers. The home was clean and orderly, and was at a comfortable indoor temperature of 78 degrees Fahrenheit. There were safe toys and equipment available for children. There is a working telephone in the home. The licensee and assistant have current pediatric CPR and First Aid certification, which expire on 03/2024. The The licensee's CA mandated reporter training certificate expires July 2024. Items which could pose a danger to children (detergents, cleaning compounds, and medications) were stored out of the reach of children. Poisons are stored in the out door shed, using a key lock. There is a working smoke detector, carbon monoxide detector and fire extinguisher rated at least 2-A, 10:BC. The licensee has conducted an emergency drill within the past six months, most recent Fire drill was documented on 06/14/22. The licensee stated there are no firearms and/or other dangerous weapons in the home, and none were observed during today's inspection. The children use the back yard as the outdoor play area and it is completely fenced. No bodies of water were observed. Nine children's (C1 thru C9) records were reviewed at 3:35 PM; required emergency information was observed to be on file. (Continue to LIC 809-C) |
