25 | Licensing Program Analyst, Joseph Pacheco, conducted an unannounced annual/random inspection today. LPA met with Director, Stephanie Dunn, and a tour of the facility was conducted inside and outside. Staff and children were spoken to during visit. The following areas were in compliance during today’s inspection: There are no bodies of water present at this facility. There are no firearms or ammunition allowed on the premises. Disinfectants, hazardous items and medications are inaccessible to children. Storage area for poisons is locked. Furniture and equipment are sufficient, age appropriate and in good repair. The playground equipment and outdoor activity space is maintained and in good condition with adequate cushioning material. Children's toilets, hand washing facilities are sanitary. Rooms are safe and clean. Food preparation area is clean, food and beverages are stored in covered containers at 45 degrees F or less if required, and storage containers for solid waste are covered. Drinking water is available both indoors and outside. Measures are taken to keep facility free of insects and rodents. Staff subject to a criminal record clearance or exemption are associated to the facility. No excluded individuals are present. Teacher-child ratios are maintained and adequate supervision was observed during today’s inspection. First Aid/CPR credentials were reviewed and expire on 1/23/2020. Sign in/sign out sheets are maintained. Children’s records were reviewed to ensure proper forms are located within each child’s file. Staff records contain documentation of education, training, and/or experience. Menus are posted.
A tour of the infant area conducted. Infant changing tables have padded surface no less than one inch thick, covered with washable vinyl, and raised sides at least 3 inches high. Toys are safe and do not have sharp points, edges or splinters, or made of small parts that can be pulled off. There is sufficient infant napping equipment. The infant indoor and outdoor activity space is physically separate from the space used by other day care children. Facility is in compliance with staff infant ratios. All infants including those napping in cribs are under visual observation at all times. Feeding plans reviewed for some infants. Needs and Services plans reviewed for some infants. Staff utilized as infant teachers have three child development units in infant/toddler care.
